What are the guiding forces of my life
Those that allow me to bow to the infinity of blessings
Often unseen but known
Each day life is a song
Not for the small me but for the me that holds infinity inside
Without this deep sense of awe, reverence, gratitude, and love for all that moves
Life was just a humdrum from one sense pleasure after another
Fulfilling for a moment until the next craving made its home
The relentless movement of the mind separated from the soul
Always the mind in a wanting state
Living in a state of deficiency
Weak and shivering
Often with self-loathing and darkness
Looking for a light not many hold
Never at rest in the stillness inside
Missing moment after moment of just being in this body, the temple of my experiences, living, breathing, receiving, giving, flowing into the vast expanse of the timeless now.
The prayer to see the light was the guiding force
If there is no persistent search for the spirit inside
No taming and purification of the wild impulses of the mind
There are no tools in the master's basket for freedom to take root
Freedom is the antidote to suffering
It does not come through packaged religion, where one size fits all
And misses the breath and the body where it all begins.
The body is no different than the mind
Sit quietly and hear its whispers
See its impulses and frenzies, its aches and pain
All beacons of messages often unseen
The eternal home present in this very moment through the discipline of love
The breath tames the body
Taming the body tames the mind
Taming the mind tames the body
After all, what else are we meant to do if not to find a home inside?
Eternal , free, still and sublime in essence
